About VVM

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is an initiative of Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA), in collaboration with Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), an institution under the Ministry of Education (earlier known as Ministry of Human Resources and Development). VVM is a national program for popularizing science among school students of standard VI to XI, conceptualised to identify the bright minds with a scientific aptitude among the student community.

Levels in VVM

  1. Online National Level Exam is the 1st level of this exam. There is be only one examination for a total of one hour thirty minutes duration at school level with 100 multiple choice questions, each weighted for one mark. Examination consists of Two Segments viz. Section-A (comprising of 40 questions from study material Indian Contributions to Science; Life story of any chosen Prominent Indian Scientist & a chosen magzine published to be provided by Vijnana Bharati) & Section-B (comprising of 60 questions based on the Text Books of NCERT Curriculum & Logic and Reasoning (open source). The examination is conducted separately for Junior Group (class VI to VIII) and for Senior Group (class IX to XI).

  2. State Level Camp is the second level of this exam. Top 20 rankers from each class for every state are identied to participate in the one or two day State Level Camp (SLC). The camp will be organised at any location within the state. State Level Camp consists of Application Orientated Multiple Choice Questions, Hands-On Activities, Observation and Analysis, Situational Problem Solving Ability and a series of other activities. States will be clubbed according to number of students who appeared for the examination, as per consideration of their geographical and cultural resemblance, and convenience of the students.

  3. National Level Camp is the third level of this exam. Top two students from each class i.e. total 12 students from each state will be invited to a two-day National Camp. National Camp (NC) will comprise of Presentations, Activities to test Scientic Understanding, Innovation, Creativity, Out-of-Box Thinking and Assessment of Leadership Quality.
